The agreement guarantees the midfielder will retire at Camp Nou
Barcelona have announced the contract renewal of Andres Iniesta. The first team captain has signed a deal "for life" according to the statement released by the club.

The signing of the contract will take place at 12.30h local time and at 13.00h there will be a press conference with the player and president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Iniesta's renewal was one of the matters outstanding at the club. Now the official signing with Lionel Messi needs to be arranged after an agreement over a renewal was confirmed in July.

"Andres Iniesta signed a lifetime contract with FC Barcelona on Friday, in a deal that will keep him at the Club for the rest of his career," Barça said in a statement.

"The Spanish midfielder, who has made 639 appearances for Barça, ranks second on the all-time games played list at the club.

"He has scored 55 goals for the first team, for which he debuted on October 29th, 2002."
