Cardi B's former manager is trying to make her money move straight into his bank account.
The "Bartier Cardi" rapper, 25, is being sued for $10 million by Klenord "Shaft" Raphael, who claims the Bronx native gave him the shaft and froze him out of her budding career after achieving success, according to multiple outlets.
"Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image," the manager's rep said in a statement. "While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint. Shaft is confident that his lawsuit will validate his conduct and substantiate his legal claims."
Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, made the switch from Shaft's guidance over to Solid Foundation in March. She joined fiancé Offset of the rap trio Migos at her new management, as well as rappers like Lil Yachty.
